Unconventional Ski Wedding Weekend
Chamonix, France
Emily & Rob
Often we are honored to work with unique and unconventional couples who want a new twist on a destination wedding. This wedding, in particular, had no formal wedding dress, involved a lot of skiing, and the best man is a girl. Unconventional and absolutely perfect.
The weekend started with a ski trip through the Alps at altitude. Layered up in bright ski coats the couple and their friends left the jagged mountain skyline in their dust as they headed down the mountain into the Chamonix valley.
After a long ski week and some recuperation, the couple and their guests enjoyed a simple ceremony in a chalet-inspired Alps venue in Chamonix, France. The couple wrote their vows and exchanged them standing in a circle with their closest friends, a really relaxed and intimate way to share this big moment.
This bride rocked a regal purple gown to their black-tie reception with a sparkling hairpiece to match. The groom wore a custom tux lined with their favorite Alpine towns. Light snow drifted around the venue before a 3-course French food feast was served. After the touching toasts, a live 4 piece band played all of the couples favorite tunes and danced with the guests. A photo booth captured all of the silliest moments.
The bride let her hair loose, took down her braided bridal do and surprised her groom by changing into a beautiful glitter dress. Then she and her handsome groom danced the night away with their closest loved ones under the disco lights. Then another surprise, the mother of the groom had a custom made cake topper to replicate the couples exact ski attire. Such a sweet gift! After one, or two, ski shots, all of the guests lined up for a sparkler send-off before saying goodnight to the newlyweds.
The glowing bride and groom had a lovely late brunch buffet at altitude with their guests celebrating their first day as Mr. & Mrs. This was a ski wedding weekend to remember! Congrats Emily & Rob!
