Chinese American Traditions Wedding
Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, France
Sherry & John
This stylish NYC couple chose to marry on the French Riviera on June 8 as the number 8 is lucky in Chinese Tradition. It was a Thursday, but that didn’t matter! Guests flew in from all over the world to celebrate with them and turned this wedding into an excuse for a vacation in Europe.
S & J hosted a pre-wedding dinner on the seaside at a chic, relaxed beachside restaurant that served fresh fish and delicious local produce. The aqua green weathered wooden tables added a fun, hip and exotic vibe to the decor. The couple took photos along the shore where they skipped rocks into the ocean until sunset.
On the wedding day, Sherry got ready with her bridal party which included three bridesmaids and one bridesman. The super fun group got ready at a gorgeous nearby Palace Hotel. Here they relaxed in their silk floral robes while sipping champagne and eating French pastries!
The wedding itself took place at nearby Villa, whose gardens are absolutely breathtaking. Sherry’s father flew in from China to walk his daughter down the aisle and was met halfway by John, her groom, and together they took steps toward their future together. This international couple said I do on a round stage over the fountains under a gorgeous flower arch customized specifically for them. The family of the couple all watered an olive tree to represent their ever-growing love that will last a lifetime.
The couple changed outfits after the cocktail hour into traditional Chinese attire which was red for good luck. Sherry’s Chinese dress was TO DIE FOR! She looked absolutely incredible! Continuing tradition, the couple held a tea ceremony for the parents to show their gratitude for their support. Our gorgeous bride changed outfits again later in the night before dancing into her 3rd dress, a short fun white wedding dress where she could dance the night away with her new husband and closest loved ones! This wedding was definitely a night to remember!
